Frederick (Fred) William Barnard (b: 18 Feb 1882 in Auckland to parents Frederick Henry and Hariet Barnard, d: 23 Jan 1947 in New Plymouth Burial: 25 Jan 1947 Waitara Cemetery). Like his father he was a telegraphist and Postmaster. On 11th Jan 1910 at Opunake he married Helen Blanche Bartle (b: 1884 to parents William Bartle and Georgeanna Sayers. She d 05 Mar 1960 in New Plymouth Bur: 08 Mar 1960 Waitara Cemetery

In Loving Memory of Frederick William Barnard beloved husband of Helen Blanche Barnard died 23rd Jan 1947 aged 64 years. Also his beloved wife Helen Blanche died 5th March 1960 aged 76 years.
Fred and Helen had two children:

(1) Their son was Frederick Martin Barnard (b: 15 Jun 1911 in Opunake; d: 05 Oct 1968 in New Plymouth Bur: 7 Oct 1968 Awanui Lawn Cemetery Block 3 Plot 503) he mar: 1945 in Woodville to Nellie Florence Goldsack (b: 16 May 1909 in Napier - her parents George Goldsack, Mother: Emily Eliza Walters; d: 21 Jan 1994 in Mary Potter Hospice, Mein St, Newtown, Wellington Bur: 27 Jan 1994 Awanui Lawn Cem.)
