The following candidates qualified at the November-December examinations for Junior National and Education Board junior scholarships, or through the scholarship examination for junior free places in secondary district high or technical schools: Taranaki - Leonard Thomas Barnard 461,1922 - Wellington suburbs electoral roll; living with parents at 201 Derwent St, Island Bay; insurance agent Leonard went to sea and became a drug addict and he overdosed and died at Auckland Hospital Coroners report - suicide by Narcotic poisoning - probably cocaine contained in an asthma specific Evening Post, 18 Jan 1927 THE Friends of the late Leonard Thomas Barnard are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral, which leave his mother's ' residence, 201 Derwent street, Island Bay, To-morrow (W nesday), 19th January, 1927, at 2 p.m. for the Sydney Street Cemetery.
