Ronald William Fisher

Ronald William Douglas Fisher (b: 16 Mar 1903 in Brunswick, Melbourne, Victoria; d: 04 Mar 1971 in Melbourne, Victoria)  

Ronald was the youngest of Allan and Nellie Fisher's three children. He was educated in Melbourne and gained University Entrance qualification in New Zealand, studied Medicine at Melbourne University, and became a G.P. in Melbourne.  He enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force during World War 2, rising to the rank of Wing Commander and was at Menanga (in the Molluccas) at the end of the War. 

After his return from War Service, he specialised in anaesthetics which became his profession.  He graduated from Melbourne University with an M.B. and B.S. on 18th December, 1924, after having done earlier medical studies in Cape  Town which ceased on 28th April, 1920, when he returned to Australia with his parents when their tour of duty with the Salvation Army had finished there.
