 RUBY HARRIET BILLMAN was b: 29 Nov 1881 in Wellington, and d: 20 Nov 1960 at her last residence 134 Sandringham Rd, Mt Albert, Auckland Age 78 Years; Crem: 22 Nov 1960,  Purewa Cem. Religion - Methodist. She did not marry.

1891- Auckland Star, 29 Oct: AUCKLAND BAND OF HOPE UNION. Yesterday evening the contests in music and elocution by members of various Bands of Hope in this district wero continued at the Foresters' Hall before a numerous audience. Mr. D. Goldie presided. The programme, which comprised Temperance songs and recitations, was as follows:

Garratt (10 years), Church of Christ; recitation, "I'll Drink It For Her Sake, Mary Wilson (KJ), Beresford Street; song, Poor Drunkard's Child," Mary McCuno (6), Christian Standard; recitation, "Nail Your Colours to the Mast" Mary Jones (15), Mt. Eden; song, "Rise with the Lark," Alfred Downey (11), Christian Staudard; recitation, "Go, Feel What I Have Felt" Lily Alice Pegler (14); Onehunga song "The Children or the Drink," Ruby H. Billman (9), Franklin Road; recitation, "Murdered by Drink," Agnes Stewart (12), Newton Excelsior; recitation, "The Widow and Her Child," Ada Alice Peace (12), Archhill; song, "The Young Abstainer" Lorenza Honeycotbe (11)

1899 Evening Post, 20 Apr: The 19th annual tea-meeting in con nection with the Donald M'Lean-street Primitive Methodist Sunday School was held last evening, and was well attended. The following ladies presided at the tables Mesdames Wright, Embury, Alexander, and Billman, and Misses Hor- rocks, Embury, S. Stephens, and E. Luke. The public meeting which followed was presided over by Mr. G. H. Ridding, the church being filled to overflowing. The report read by the Secretary (Mr. Chas. Ridding) showed the school to be in a very prosperous condition, progress having been registered in all departments, special mention being made of the good work done by the Band of Hope and library. A feature of the meeting was the singing of the children, assisted by the choir and an orchestra under the leadership of Mr. J. Osborne, Miss Feltham presiding at the organ. Miss Ruby Billman sang sweetly "The Promise of the King."
