ELSIE LOUISE HARRIS was b: Sep 1892 in Warminster, Wiltshire England, and d: 18 Dec 1965 in 51 North St, Timaru 73Y.

In 1911: , Elsie Harris aged 18Y was employed as a domestic servant and no longer was living at home with her family however when the census was recorded on Apr 2 1911 , nbsp;she was a hospital patient at the General Hospital, Alfred St, Weston Super Mare, Somerset.

She mar: THOMAS HENRY MATTINGLEY 13 Sep 1918 in England. He was the son of THOMAS JAMES MATTINGLEY and SARAH BENBOW and was b: 15 Mar 1884 in Temuka, and d: 25 Sep 1964 in Timaru aged 80Y. His bur; Sect RSA Block R Plot 6 Timaru

In March 1917 his father received word to say his son Rifleman T. H. Mattingley was on the casualty list and had been admitted to hospital in severely wounded.

He met and married 13 Sep 1918, England Elsie, his wife and 12 August 1919 the Defence Department advised that the Athenic with Returning, Draft No. 277 with T H Mattingley on board and would arrive at Wellington on or about Ist September 1919.

LESLEY HENRY MATTINGLEY, b. 08 Feb 1919; School Gleniti; occ: electrician; (War service 2nd NZEF); resided 27A BRENDA STREET TIMARU and d. 30 May 1981, Timaru aged 62Y; Bur: 23 Nov 1981, RSA Section, Timaru Cemetery) He mar. 06 Oct 1945 at St Johns Church, Rangiora to BETHAN (CONNIE) CONSTANCE PULLEY, 3rd daughter of Mr and Mrs V H S Pulley, 7 Duke St, Rangiora, b. 31 Jan 1920, Rangiora, Canterbury New Zealand; d. 30 Mar 1998, Timaru 78Y.

ii. GORDON PERCY MATTINGLEY, b. 29 Aug 1921; School Gleniti and Timaru Main; d. 22 Apr 2002, Blenheim 80Y; Leading-Stoker Gordon Percy Mattingley, R N.Z.N. a trainee with the Navy during WW2. mar. 29 Aug 1944 at Ponsonby Baptist Church, Auckland to EILEEN MITCHAM, younger daughter of Mr. F. G and the late Mrs. Mitcham; She was b. 07 Oct 1918, Thames, Waikato; d. 07 Apr 1995, Blenheim, Marborough 76Y. Gordon won a ballot for a rehabilitation farm at Montatto (mid-Canterbury) and took over in 1949. In 1970 son Trevor took over after Gordon 's retirement, Gordon retired to Picton, and became treasurer for the RSA there for 15 years, 9 of which he was secretary. Bur: Picton Cemetery, Blenheim
