Roly's Hughes has much to celebrate - at his 90th birthday on August 6th 2010 at his Hawera home with wife Myra, he is surrounded by his family and friends. Roly Hughes and Myra Wren  have been married 64 years. They first met in 1939 when Roleys parents bought the farm next to the Wrens at Tokaora but a year later he enlisted and saw five years service in WW2 and married on his return. Their interests - Myra with singing and Roley a keen cricketer and busy farmer and a growing family kept them busy in a close-knit farming community. In May 2006, Myra and Roly celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
