1922 New Zealand Meat Producers Board was constituted and placed in control of meat exports. NZ's first frozen whole carcusss meat export was sent to England from Port Chalmers on the "Dunedin" in 1882 giving a profitable outlet for the country's surplus sheep. Today meat is supplied to the world markets as requested - chilled, frozen, boneless, bone-in; whole carcass, legs, middle & shoulders; bulk, vacuum packed, wrapped and Halal. General election, 1922.
