CLAUDE THOMAS PROSSER (son of Samuel and Elizabeth) was born 27 Oct 1880 in Wellington, and died 28 Aug 1941 Burial: 30 Aug 1941, Porirua Non Conformis 0, Plot 07, Porirua, Wellington.

Claude in 1898 became watchmaker and jeweller/apprentice under Christopher Rowland at Opunake and other brothers Rowley and Elliot learnt their trade also from him (after the death of their father Samuel, Christopher became their step-father)

Claude became the Senior Partner and Manager of the firm of Prosser Brothers,

In 1903 he took over the business in conjunction with his brother "Prosser Brothers" (Claude Thomas Prosser as Senior partner and Rowley Tidd Prosser), Watchmakers and Jewellers, Main Street, Opunake. Their business involving largely import ing, and undertaking repairs of all kinds. They also owned considerable property in Opunake.  Claude was a member of the Opunake Mounted Rifles, and of the Opunake Coursing Club.

1913 - Prosser Bros. Watchmakers and Jewellers Hobson St. Auckland also at the Strand, Tauranga

1915 - BOP TIMES 15 May 1915 - Dissolution of watchmaker/jewellers partnership . The new owner was A E Innes who purchased the business on the Strand ( Elliot became an employee of the BOP TIMES 11 Aug 1915

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP, notice is hereby given that the JL* Partnership here-to-fore subsisting between us the undersigned Claude Thomas Prosser and Elliot York Prosser as Watchmakers and Jewellers at Tauranga under the style of Prosser Bros.has been dissolved as from this date by mutual conscnt. The business will be carried on by the said Claude Thomas Prosser alone, who will receive all moneys owing to and discharge all liabilities entered into by the late firm.
