1 May 1937 - Dorothy was injured when she fell from a bank onto boulders on the riverbed below, while on a lone walk while on a visit to relatives at York Bay. She was not found for 30 hours and was stretchered out and taken by ambulance to Wellinton to hospital for an operation. 

 James and Dorothy had 3 children:
