The Kotuku recreation reserve is an area of .3 hectares and a sealed road provides access to the Te Puna foreshore from the Plummers Point Road. It has a popular boat ramp for boat launching and picnic area and fishing is a popular pastime off wharf. Car parking in summer can be difficult.
