Allendale Gardens
Owners Loraine, a landscape gardener and husband Max Cross thirty years ago planted out their cow paddock and in 1983 opened it to the public. Max took us round the paths which weave through lovely tree fern glades, eucalyptus and blackwood trees some up to 500 years old in the seven acres garden telling us about the trees, about flowers of every hue and and variety - a haven of beauty, peace and tranquility. Lorraine served us her homemade Devonshire tea to complete for us a memorable event. Allendale gardens were a truly unique inspiration to a couple's industry, enthusiasm and colourful floral beauty - the rambling roses, birds - a creation a sheer wonder of nature.
