1914 Nelson electoral roll; living at Takaka; bank clerk The bank kept him in this small town until he resigned to join the army under a falsified age WW1. He fought on Gallipoli in the last reinforcement to on onto Gallipoli and was wounded in France and returned to NZ 1917.
