She was bur: 06 Jan 1879, Holy Trinity Church, Avonside, Christchurch. Dec 20, 1865. DEATH: An inquest was held yesterday before the coroner, J. W. S. Coward, Esq., at Avonside, to enquire into the circumstances attending the death of Esau Lewis. From the evidence it appeared that the deceased, a very old man, was, on the 18th instant, driving some cattle off his land, when he was suddenly seen to fall, and on his neighbors going to him, it was found that he was dead. Dr. Leach (who had been sent for at once) deposed that he had made a post mortem examination, and found that death had resulted from rupture of the heart.
