Bert was enrolled Feb 1913 to the
Glenore School and in 1917 at Hampden school and in
1935, he married Marjorie Carr the daughter of Ernest Albert
Carr and Fanny nee Deacon.
Marjorie's father Ernest was bapt: 9 Jan 1870 at
Waltham Abbey, Essex and 1881 lived at Waltham Holy Cross, Essex,
England where in Sep 1903, aged 33 yrs he married Fanny who had
been b: 1872 at Birmingham, Warwickshire. In 1935 Ernest and Fanny
boarded the Ship: Strathnaver at London for Lyttleton, New
Zealand 21 February 1935 with their family - Marjorie Annie; Barbara
Frances; Ernest George; Victoria Maud and Grace Irene Carr. Fanny d:
1960 and Ernest Albert Carr d: 1961 in Christchurch
1935 - Mid Canterbury Electorate; living at Dorie, Rakaia;
farmer 1943 - Stones Directory; Albert Edward Benbow, Ben McLeod

Electorate; Bert grazed horses near Akaroa on the property of Walter

at 102 Tosswill Rd, Prebbleton; Farmer. Bert was very keen on sheep
dog trials and had the Silver Plough groups which he was justifiably
proud.
