Alice Elizabeth Armit was b: 12 Oct 1914 in Temuka and in Apr 1924 attended the Waimataitai School and Oct 1925 the  Gleniti School at Timaru. She married George John Denley.

George was b: 25 Oct 1914 in Westham, England, the son of George Thomas Denley (b: 1881 d: 1958) and Sophia Polly nee Downes (b: 1881 d: 1966 at Timaru) The Denley family left their home  31 Western Road, Plaistow, London on 7 Feb 1924 departing from Southampton for Auckland, 
New Zealand on the "IONIC" (Mrs P Denley aged 41, Mabel Denley 15, Phyllis Denley 10,
Geo Denley 9, Jno Denley 8, Douglas Denley 3)

George was enrolled at the Timaru Main School 31st Mar 1924 and later trained as a telegraphist He and Alice after marrying on 28 Aug 1935 lived at Timaru and in 1941 moved to Geraldine. He served in the NZEF Corps Reg. No 478485 WW2  NZEF NZ CORPS 478485 L/CPL Geo Denley. Between 1946 and 1954 lived at Waimate. .He was postmaster at Geraldine and d: aged 46Y, interred in the Geraldine Cemetery

George died: 02 Sep 1961 at Wilson St. Geraldine and was bur: 04 Sep 1961 Geraldine Cemetery Bk 67 L28. Alice lived at Flat 3, 225 Church Steet, Timaru where she d: 06 Apr 1995 aged 80 years. (Crem: Ashes interred Sect PRE Bk 67 L28 Geraldine Cem.)
