piano by
Miss Lina Hay an excellent teacher and pianist, and later went to
Miss
Peggy Story, whose talents included teaching piano, the Hawaiin
guitar,
and encouraged singers and taught Highland dancing. On her
recommendation,
Catherine went on to study at St Joseph's Convent tutored by
Sister
Sylvia.
TEMUKA
LEADER, 19 APRIL 1932: BAND OF HOPE - TEMUKA BRANCH COMMENCES
INTERESTING
PROGRAMME GIVEN The Temuka branch of the Band of Hope commenced
its
programmes for the winter on Friday evening in the Methodist
Schoolroom.
About 110 adults and children were present. The meeting
opened with
a hymn, and a prayer by the Rev. C. A. Kennedy. Mr Kennedy gave an
interesting address followed by the following programme:
Scripture reading, Dorothy Lloyd; pianoforte solos, Celia Mallett,
Myrtle
Cooper; vocal solos. Miss A. Mills, Kathleen Benbow.
Catherine left school after Std 6.
She studied singing with the encouragemment of
her mother
who also was a singer and had been keen on stage work back
in
England, This enabled Catherine to take part in
competitions, broadcasting and operatic society productions
and for many years played as official pianist for
ballet and
tap dancing competitions, for teachers classes and at
hotels.

Ronald Henry
Lincoln was son of
HENRY
LINCOLN (1884 -1967)
and
mother EVA NORA BAYES (1890 -
1963.
He was b: 05 Jun 1914 in Croyden, Surrey and died
17 Jun
2006 in Rotorua, NZ.
Ronald's first marriage in 1938
was to
Jessie Muriel Bell (1912 - 1990) - she divorced 1946 at
Christchurch and
1947 remarried Albert Devine.

Presbyterian Church, Christchurch. After their
marriage at
Christchurch they lived on the West Coast where Ron was in State
Forest
Work, and then moved to the Nelson area where Ron
was
employed at Golden Downs at the Forestry Training
School. He was
transferred to Rotorua Headquarters where they settled
permanently.
