Jean, a 14 year old schoolgirl died when she fell and hit her head leaving a neighbourhood shop. She did not recover from the accident and was buried 23rd Sept. 1943 at Timaru Cemetery Block N, Plot292. Her loss is remembered on the headstone of her parents, Mary and Andrew Armit.
