SAD FATALITY. A distressing occurrence resulting in the death of a 13-year-old lad named Edgar William Rowe, whose parents reside at Petone, happened in that town yesterday afternoon. The lad had been playing football with some other boya on the property of Mr. J. Barlow in Britannia-street, and started climbing trees. Rowe jumped from the branch of a tree to the ground, a distance of about 6ft. He landed on his feet, but immediately aflerwards said to one of his playmates that he felt faint. A few seconds later he dropped on the ground and expired. Dr. Stewart, who was promptly summoned, could not give a certificate of the cause of death, and the coroner decidod to hold an inquest this afternoon. It is thought that the lad, who had suffered from fainting fits before, had a weak heart.
