John Humphris (1811-1880) & Mary Anne Smith(1831-18)

John Humphris  (b: Abt. 1811 in Sevenhampton to parents John Humphris (1792-1861) and Mary nee Mathews (1794-1861); Occ: Farmer, Condicote, 200 acres;

Manor Farm, west of the church, was one of Hazleton's principal post-inclosure farmsteads and it presumably occupied the site of an ancient farm. John Humphris,  rebuilt the farmhouse abt 1840 on a slightly different site and with a three-storeyed south front. Other farm buildings erected in the mid 19th century included a barn and a windmill to the north, on the opposite side of the lane.

1876: Sevenhampton Morris Gloucestershire Directory: Sevenhampton is a village and parish in Northleach union, containing, by the census of 1861, 543, and in 1871, 525 inhabitants, with 3238 acres; in the deanery of Winchcomb, archdeaconry of Gloucester, diocese of Gloucester and Bristol, hundred of Bradley, East Gloucestershire; 5 miles south from Winchcomb, 7 east from Cheltenham, 94 by road and 125 by rail from London. The vicarage, in the incumbency of the Rev. John M. Hall, is valued at £50 per annum, and is in the alternate patronage of Walter Lawrence Lawrence and Goodwin Charles Colquitt Craven, Esqs. The church is an ancient Norman edifice, dedicated to St. Andrew, consisting of nave and chancel, with tower and 3 bells. There is a National School for children of both sexes.
