John Humphris (b: Abt. 1811 in
Sevenhampton to parents John Humphris (1792-1861) and Mary nee Mathews
(1794-1861); Occ: Farmer, Condicote, 200 acres;
Manor Farm, west of the church, was one of
Hazleton's principal post-inclosure farmsteads and it presumably occupied
the site of an ancient farm. John Humphris, rebuilt the
farmhouse abt 1840 on a slightly different site and
with a three-storeyed south front. Other farm buildings erected in the mid
19th century included a barn and a windmill to the north, on the opposite
side of the lane.
