Walter Hall
Jefferis (b: 08 Jun 1852 in Wells Keynsham, Somerset, England ; d: aged
78Y on 15 Apr 1931 in Spokane, Washington) The district Keynsham spans the
boundaries of the counties of Gloucestershire and
Somerset
He immigrated with his parents John and Ann Jefferis when aged 6 years arriving
in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1858. Walter was educated at his
sister Lucy's school then after 1860 at North Taieri School and Otago
Boy's High School. After leaving
school Walter would have helped on the farm.
Father John Jefferis d: Feb 1875 and after
payment of their father's legacy about the end of 1875, Walter
and his brother John went to the California, USA. about 1876
- John returned to New Zealand after 2 years and settled at Waerenga
(Waikato) but Walter stayed in America and became an American citizen.
Walter mar: 17 Jun 1889 in Albany, Benton,
Oregon, USA to Clara Jean Smith (b: 29 Dec 1865 in Larene, Lincoln,
Washington - her father was Samuel Smith (1830-1909) and mother, Sarah
Elizabeth Meeker (1844-1937); her siblings were: Vance Lee Smith
(1859-1954); John M Smith (1868-1954); Eva Smith Woodard (1870-1962);
George Edward Smith (1873-1962); Nellie Smith (1882-1976). Clara died one
month after childbirth aged 33Y on 5th Feb 1898 in Greenwood Memorial
Terrace Cemetery, Spokane, Washington; Plot: Sect #3)
Recorded in the 1900 Census, Walter was a widow
aged 47Y, living at Sedallincoln, Washington with Clara 10Y, Norma 9 and
son Corral aged 2; 1910 he lived at 24 Range Lincoln, Freehold; age 57Y,
he was a wheat farmer living with his 2 surviving children Grace 20
and Norma aged 19. In 1920, the daughter of his sister Ann - niece Annie Hall Webb went from NZ to Spokane, Ohio. She
housekept for her uncle Walter Jefferis for fifteen years, and after his
death in 1931, she returned home. Walter was bur: Greenwood Terrace
Cem. with wife Clara, Spokane County, Washington.

Obituary:
AMACHER Kloh-Ann (nee MAYER) of New Westminster, BC passed away on
December 28, 2007. She was predeceased by her parents Julius and Nellie
Mayer and two brothers, Robert J. Mayer and Jack C. Mayer. Kloh-Ann will
be remembered by her sister-in-law, Thelma E. Mayer, nephew, Ronald
Mayer, niece Julie Austin and grand nieces, Katie, Victoria and Shannon.
Kloh-Ann was born in Portland, Oregon, USA where she attended
elementary school, high school and later attended the University of
Oregon to earn her B.A. in Sociology. Kloh-Ann continued her education
and earned a Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of California,
Berkeley. Her career took her coast to coast, from San Francisco to
Northampton and finally to Vancouver, British Columbia to take a
professorship with the University of British Columbia. Kloh-Ann Amacher
had a love for dogs and enjoyed many activities including traveling the
world and vacations in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Friendships were very
important to her and she greatly appreciated her close friends. She had
an independent spirit and strong sense of what she wanted from life and
sought it avidly. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations
to a charity of choice appreciated.

Obituary: William Edward Voget, Jr.
died May 29, 2005 at the age of 88. He was born August 9, 1916 in
Irvington, New Jersey. Bill was captain of his high school track and
cross country team in Irvington and was appointed first alternate to
the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis. After graduating from high
school, Bill moved to Washington where he attended Washington State
College, was a member of the track team and president of Sigma Chi
fraternity. He graduated in 1940 with a B.A. in Business
Administration and a commission of 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. In
retirement, he established an athletic trust fund at WSU. Bill married
Bernice Heil on June 27, 1942 and served in the 81st Infantry Division
in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war, he lived and worked
in Spokane before moving to the Seattle Tacoma area where he spent the
rest of his life. Bill worked as a stockbroker for many years. He was
also a long time member of the Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club. Besides
tennis, Bill enjoyed working in his garden, playing chess and bridge
(doubling just for laughs) and shooting the breeze with friends and
neighbors. He liked good food and drink and classical music. In later
life he liked to read, recite poetry and sing colorful songs. Bill was
preceded in death by his granddaughter Pamela Voget and his brother
Richard Voget. He is survived by his wife Bernice, son Richard Voget
(wife Constance), daughter Judith Sanislo (husband Lee), grandchildren
Stephen Sanislo and Gretchen Koth (husband Jeff) and great grandson
Oskar Koth.

Jean Heil (b: 31 Aug 1920 in Spokane, Washington, daughter of Dona
Benjamin and Norma Jean Heil; d: aged 87Y on 11 May 2008 in Bellevue,
King Washington; Bur: Sequim, Clallam County, Wasington) She grew up in
Spokane and attended the University of Washington, where she was a
member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She graduated with a degree in
speech. Norma mar: Robert Vernon Glaze on Dec. 17, 1944 in
Sacramento, California where the family lived until 1956, then
moved to Mercer Island, Washington. Her husband Bob (b: 27 Jun 1916 in
Idaho, California; d: 05 Nov 2009 in Bellevue, King Washington), worked
for Boeing and Norma Jean raised the four Glaze children. She and her
husband retired to Sequim. They lived on Sunland Golf Course in their
home on the sixth green for 20 years. Many friendships developed from
pursing their favorite pastime of golf. Norman Jean enjoyed her
family, friends and all their activities on Mercer Island, especially at
the Mercerwood Shore Club. She attended all her kid’s swim meets,
baseball and football games. Norma Jean and Bob had a large circle of
friends who traveled and played golf together. Her true passion was
painting and she was always working on a project. She is survived by
Robert, her husband of 63 years, her two sisters, Bernice of Seattle and
Barbara, of Honolulu; and her four children, Claudia Jean Glaze, of
Seattle, Paul Jefferis Glaze (Kristy) of Mercer Island, Robert Vernon
Glaze Jr. (Kristy) of Bellevue, and Leslie Ann Glaze, of
Longview.
