VIOLET TRUMPER was b: 10 Apr 1884 at Geraldine to parents Ben and Lizzie Trumper Along with Louisa, James and Samuel, she attended the Pleasant Valley scjool (her father Ben was on the school committee) then a move came and was admitted Milford Temuka School 5 Aug 1893, address Riverslea; passed Std 4 Aug 1897 - her last day.

On 18 Oct 1903 Violet gave birth to a daughter she named  Gladys Eileen Trumper - sister Louisa and husband Samuel Callard who had no family, adopted her.

VIOLET TRUMPER and SAMUEL JACOB KING married on 12 Jan 1910 at Temuka. 

 
Samuel was the son of JOHN KING and ELIZABETH and was b: 6th Jan 1890 in Timaru - he d: 13 Jun 1970 in Timaru aged 80 Y; was bur; 16th Jun 1970 at Timaru Cem. Lawn Section Block LB Plot 736 and just 3 mths later, was joined by Violet who d: 13th Sep 1970 aged 86Y, and was bur: 15th Sep with him.
 
Education: Samuel Jacob lived with his parents at Brown St and on 16 Apr 1895 he was admitted to the Timaru Main School, then Oct 1897 he went to Timaru South School and again in 9 Jan 1901 when his parents moved to Rose Street  he attended the Wai-iti and Gleniti schools.

1911 Electoral Roll: Samuel and Violet  lived at Flinders Street Kensington - his occ: engine driver and lived at Salisbury, Timaru. Here, on 3 Nov 1911 at  Timaru their son HENRY SAMUEL KING was born.

28 Jan 1919: At a meeting of Timaru WORKS AND SANITATION Committee the borough engineer and sanitary inspector considered a letter from Mr S. J. King terminating his position as driver of the traction engine after 14 years' service. They accepted his resignation with regret and made a decision to give him a good  service certificate.

In the following years, Samuels ability with farm stock is rcognised - he won awards, over the years, competing in the various Agricultural shows  for poultry, jersey cattle and pigs.

HENRY SAMUEL KING, their son, was b: 03 Nov 1911 in Timaru - his schooling was undertaken at Timaru South school. 

Henry mar: NATALIE ROSLYN JUANITA (NEITA) SHAW on 03 Feb 1937 in Timaru. She was b: 03 Feb 1913 in Timaru. The Kings home was at 54 Otipua Rd in Timaru where Henry d: 31 Dec 1984 aged 73 yrs;  bur: 4 Jan 1985 at Timaru Cem  LAWN Block LC Plot 665. Natalie passed away 19th Apr 2000 aged 87 Years - her interment at Cemetery Timaru Cem

"Henry mar. Nathalie (Nieta) Shaw and lived in Timaru for the rest of his life. He did his apprenticeship as a Cabinet Maker with Redcliffe and Co, then worked for Finlaysons and Co until the fine dust started to effect his lungs so he had to give up. He worked at joinery until he retired at 63. Wood was Henry's life work so he continued with a small workshop at home to make childrens toys, the most popular one being rocking horses. Henry was the 'handy man' to lots of the neighbours too. Nathalie was a keen gardener and kept a large productive garden."

Their daughter DENDRAH JUANITA KING was  b: Timaru and mar: JOHN RICHARD OSBORNE and they lived in Invercargill.Children of DENDRAH KING and JOHN OSBORNE are:

ii. CAROL ANN OSBORNE

iii. Kerry Maree OSBORNE
