Proud of his regiment, George Adlam took a last opportunity to gather surviving fellow servicemen: 

Feilding Star, 19 June 1913: ANNIVERSARY - THE 43rd. TO JUBILATE..  lt is proposed to hold a reunion at a convenient centre of the surviving members of the 43rd Regiment on December 11, the date of the fiftieth anniversary of their landing in New Zealand. Mr G. A. Adlam, of Oakura, invites survivors to communicate with him..
