MATTINGLEY MITCHAM.: On August 29, 1944, at Ponsonby Baptist Church, by Student A. J. Wakcun, Eileen younger daughter of Mr. F. G and the late Mrs. Mitcham. Herne Bay, to Leading-Stoker Gordon Percy Mattingley, R N.Z.N.. younger son of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Mattingley, North Street. Timaru. Eileen (b: 7 October 1918, d; 1995) mar; Gordon while he was training with the Navy during WW2. Later Gordon was successful in winning a ballot for a rehabilitation farm at Montatto (mid-Canterbury) in 1949. His son Trevor took over in 1970 and Gordon retired to Picton where he became treasurer for the RSA for 15 years, 9 of which he was secretary also.
