EMMA KATE* CONE was born April 01, 1886 in Waitohi, Temuka, and died March 24, 1959 in Timaru. She married ROBERT (BOB) MITCHELL DAVIE on March 27, 1907 in Timaru He was the son of ALEXANDER DAVIE and AGNES MITCHELL and was born May 19, 1881 in Hillhead, Kirkintilloch, Scotland, and died April 02, 1961 in 26 King St. Timaru. Bob had one of the first cabs in Timaru and was a moulder by trade. At the time of marriage Kate was employed as a tailoress at Ballantynes, Timaru.

1. ALEXANDER DAVIE was born December 16, 1907 in Timaru, Occupation: Postmaster; and died December 15, 1988 in Wellington. Burial: Makara Cemetery, Wellington. He married AGNES LEASK WATKINS May 08, 1934 in Dunedin, daughter of CHARLES WATKINS and AGNES SLATER. She was born September 24, 1906 in Rossland, B.C., Canada.

2. ROBERT (BERT) FREDERICK DAVIE was born February 10, 1909 in Timaru where he died August 27, 1994, Burial: Timaru Cemetery,South Canterbury. He married GWENDOLINE (GWEN) THERESIA PURDOM February 25, 1932 in Timaru, daughter of THOMAS PURDOM and CAROLENE ALVE. She was born June 28, 1907 in Rangiotu, and died May 17, 1999 in Timaru.

3. SARAH AGNES DAVIE was born April 05, 1910 in Timaru, and died May 07, 1965 in Wellington. Burial: Nae Nae Cemetery. She married MARK ERNEST LIENERT April 20, 1933 in Timaru, son of EMIL LIENERT and MARGARET ROLLINS. He was born January 07, 1909 in Gore, and died November 27, 1984 in Lower Hutt.

4. MARY ELIZABETH DAVIE was born March 06, 1912 at Pleasant Point, and died July 29, 1987 in Timaru where she is buried. She married ROBERT SCOTT March 06, 1939 in Dunedin, son of WILLIAM SCOTT and MARGARET STEWART. He was born October 03, 1915 in Ormiston, Scotland, and died February 02, 2003 in Timaru.

5. JOHN MITCHELL DAVIE was born August 11, 1914 in Timaru, South Canterbury, and died November 25, 1994 in Dunedin. Ashes Buried East Taieri. He married EDITH ESME LINDSAY April 24, 1938 in Timaru, daughter of ARCHIBALD LINDSAY and EDITH FRY. She was born April 04, 1914 in Timaru, and died December 13, 1992 in Mosgeil.

Bert; Bill; Alex; Stan and John6. WILLIAM (BILL) GEORGE DAVIE was born April 25, 1917 in Timaru ( his birth registered as George William), and died July 05, 1959 in Christchurch. Bill is buried at Memorium Cemetery, Christchurch. He married IDA ISOBEL CHILDS in April 15, 1944 in Christchurch, daughter of JOHN CHILDS and ELIZABETH HENDERSON and was born at Lyttleton. William {Bill } George Davie was born was the 4th son and 6th child in the family of Emma Kate and Robert Mitchell Davie School days were in Timaru.
Working days started at an early age in the N.Z. Railways working on the West Coast and Lyttleton. When it was time for Army training he was sent to Ngarawahia in the North Island,then he went to the Middle east with the railways Operating Co. for 3 years. Because of his ability at sailing, he was posted to Tobruk unloading supplies by night to avoid the german Bombers.They were taken out of the Middle East by Sub=Marine.
On return to N.Z. he worked at Lyttleton and completed exams to get into office administration work and 9 months later he married: Ida Isobel Childs at the Holy trinity Church at Lyttleton. Their first son Jack was born at Oxford and their second daughter Lesley born at Lyttleton. Bill, at the age of 33 years showed signs of Epilepsy and by 1952 they built their first home in Manuka St. Christchurch and here Peter, their 3rd son was born.
As time passed on Bill was finally diagnosed with a Brain Tumour which required 5 operations at Dunedin Hospital by Mr.James but without success he passed away at Christchurch on 5th July 1959.

(b)LESLEY ELIZABETH DAVIE She married ANTHONY (TONY) ERNEST DAVIES in Christchurch, son of WILLIAM DAVIES and FAY born in Ellerslie. Their children:
i. JACQUI DAVIES, b. Christchurch; m. PETER MITCHENER at Nelson.
ii. MICHELLE DAVIES, b. Christchurch; m. PAUL COLGATE Nelson.
iii. SANDI DAVIES, b., Nelson Partner (1) COX. (2) TASKER. Their children are DENIM DAVIES and JOHNTIE DAVIES
(c)PETER STANLEY DAVIE He married YVONNE STERRITT in Christchurch, daughter of WILLIAM STERRITT and MARJORIE born Clyde. Their children are MATTHEW born at Vancouver and ELLEN born Palmerston North.
7. HELEN CONE DAVIE born June 28, 1919 in Timaru, and died June 12, 1973 in Christchurch. Burial: Waimairi Cemetery, Christchurch. She married ARTHUR ALBERT GREENWOOD May 31, 1941 in Dunedin, son of ALBERT GREENWOOD and EVA HOWE. He was born May 09, 1917, and died December 10, 1999 in Rangiora. Burial: RSA Block, Rangiora Cemetery

8. CHARLES STANLEY* DAVIE was born in Temuka. He married AVIS CAROL ANDERSON February 26, 1949 in West Acton, London, daughter of WILLIAM ANDERSON and IVY BISHOP. She was born November 05, 1923 in Wellington, and died January 09, 2000 in Paterborough. Burial: Orton Longueville, Peterborough

Katie and Mary Davie 9. KATIE MCKINLAY DAVIE was born Timaru. She married SAMUEL THOMAS ROGERSON SCOTT December 21, 1951 in Dunedin, son of JOHN SCOTT and ISABELLA ROGERSON. He was born July 31, 1918 in Milton, and died October 02, 1999 at Hamilton where he is buried.
