Thurs. 28th Sept.After
breakfast we explore Ceduna before travelling 100 kms to Wirrulla
which has a population of approximately 600 people. We purchase our
lunch at the bakery before going on to Mount Wudinna, the region's
biggest tourist draw-card. After our picnic, we tackle the climb to
the summit with it's magnificent views. Kimba has a Gallah and we
inspect the tourist shop - now at halfway point across Australia.
Next to Iron Knob township. Here a local tour guide joins us to show
us the huge pit and gives us a historical understanding of the mine
operation and how the local community, mostly retired people, have
banded together to run this tourist operation. 68 kms on, we
arrive at the western outskirts of Port Augusta and our night's
accommodation, the Standpipe Golf Motor Inn. View photos of day's events
